JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- More than 2,000 people shouting anti-American slogans marched in Indonesia's capital on Friday, the largest of several recent rallies against a potential U.S.-led attack on Afghanistan. Meanwhile, a newspaper reported Indonesia's central bank has refused to comply with U.S. demands to freeze assets linked to Osama bin Laden. Although the demonstration by Muslim students was peaceful, a small group of militants marched past the residence of U.S. ambassador Robert Gelbard, shouting: "Kill Gelbard, destroy America." The rising anti-U.S. sentiment has prompted the State Department to warn U.S. citizens to stay away from Indonesia, even though Indonesia's ...
Jordan:Quoted:"The appalling terror attacks which shook New York and Washington earlier this month have been related to many entrenched and chronic injustices in many parts of this world but mainly to the compounded injustices in Palestine. If this does not approvingly vindicate the Palestinian cries for an end to injustice then, it should at least bring it under the brightest of lights, to expose the potential dangers involved, not to the Palestinians and their inalienable rights, not to the Middle East and its stability and future, but to the safety of every remote corner of this earth as the events in the US have indicated. If the world would finally acknowledge, alas at a very heavy human cost and in the wake of an unprecedented tragedy, that the declared war against terrorism should begin with eliminating injustice, then some cautious optimism may be justified." Analysis:Notice that the editorial does not call fro an end to these attacks nor does it condemn the attacks; it merely notes that they are "appalling terror attacks" - a description. It then goes on to say that it proves that the Palestinians are right, and it is dangerous for other countries to ignore them. The final paragraph even states that the response of the world should NOT be directed against terrorism, but to solve the complaints of the Palestinians for a homeland. In other words, the terrorism is ok if it solves their problem.
From the King of Jordan: http://www.jordantimes.com/Fri/homenews/homenews1.htm Quoted: King Abdullah has strongly condemned the attacks and said “the struggle against the phenomenon of terrorism is an international responsibility which requires a coming together of all efforts.” But echoing the views of most Arab leaders he warned that eradicating the roots of terror must be linked to greater efforts, spearheaded by the United States, to resolve the 53-year-old Arab-Israeli conflict. And, a Jordanian official accompanying the King said the campaign must not be allowed to become an anti-Muslim or anti-Arab struggle. Information Minister Saleh Qallab said Wednesday that the King would focus on Israel's aggression against the Palestinian people and the 11-year-old UN sanctions regime on Iraq. At the same time he will tell Bush that Arab nations “reject a generalization of the problem and links” to Osama Ben Laden, the United States' prime suspect in the terror attacks, Qallab said. Arab leaders from Egypt to the Gulf have been increasingly reluctant to join the United States in waging war against Ben Laden, who is being harboured by Afghanistan's Taleban regime. Analysis:Key points:
 | The King condemns the attacks on the WTC (in words alone) | | The King follows up to oppose the U.S. attempts to get Bin Laden. | | The King then tries to redirect the focus from an attempt to end terrorism as a means, to instead reward the terrorists by focusing on one of their goals - the formation of a Palestinian state. |
Conclusion: Bullshit. Jordan is NOT supporting U.S. efforts to end terrorism as a means to ANYTHING, and instead is playing the same old game of trying to bullshit us while he collects our monetary aid, and continues to support the terrorists. Saudi ArabiaThe government (the Royal Family) supports the U.S. (sometimes) - the general population is against the U.S. - for evidence, see this artical from an Arabic source: the Jordan Times: http://www.jordantimes.com/Fri/news/news13.htm
