My favorite part of the US is the West/Northwest: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado... and even parts of California.  Having spent a portion of my childhood in Idaho Falls, Idaho, I feel most at home in the northwest.

The land is still largely unspoiled and remote; the weather is good, low humidity and sunny skies predominate.  The people are open and friendly, but also honest and direct, and value education as well as personal freedom.

The spirit of the Wild West is still alive, and a rugged can-do attitude is strong among the natives.

And the scenic beauty is amazing!
