The Big Chicken!

If you're going to include a photo of Atlanta, you must include the Big Chicken in Marietta, Georgia! It was built in the late 60's or early 70's as a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant - and still is. The eyes roll and the beak opens and closes!

A favorite with everyone except stuffy tightasses! It has become a
point of reference for anyone in the Marietta - Smyrna - Kennesaw area (northwest Atlanta suburbs).

The building is easily visible from 1/2 mile away.

Directions: To find it, take I-75 to the south loop (Marietta, Rt 120) exit (just one exit north of Delk Road. Head west off the exit till Cobb
Parkway, then go north about 1/2 mile - you'll see on the right; across from Kmart and just north of Sam's Club. It has been declared a historic building - There was even an article in the Atlanta Gerbil Constipation (my name for that crappy hyperliberal newspaper, the Atlanta Journal Constitution) about the engineer who designed the building. The article explained the uproar that ensued when it was about to be torn down some years ago.
